Osteoporosis (weakened bone) accounts for 1.5 million fractures a year in the United States. Although there is preventative treatment, most people have not been screened for osteoporosis.
We were the first physicians to bring bone density densitometry, known as DEXA, to the Northern Kentucky area. All of our physicians have been certified by the International Society of Clinical Densitometry (ISCD) and bring a wealth of experience in the diagnosis and treatment of osteoporosis.
Your bone health is more than just a number given by a machine. Proper assessment requires both a DEXA result and physician evaluation. Our fracture prevention program is enhanced by incorporating FRAX, a World Health Organization risk assessment tool, which individualizes results based a patients unique characteristics. Hosting an onsite DEXA machine gives us the ability to assess bone health, calculate the risk of fracture, and to discuss treatment options during the same visit.
